the former "shulala" on rocky bay ...

we enjoyed two years living on the water at rocky bay.  we met many friends, ate a LOT of oysters, and grew our equity during the temporary insanity that gripped the northwest real estate market in the early part of the new century.  we will ALWAYS have fond memories of rocky bay in south puget sound....

Hollie flew over the house one April day while out dumping skydivers out of a perfectly good airplane, and caught this aerial.  You can even see the boat on the trailer in the back yard.

If you "mouse-over", you can see the new paint scheme.

Here's a really low tide.  All that stuff you see on the sand is OYSTERS!  The flag pole just washed up on shore one day.  It sported a "jovial" Jolly Roger.

Friends Matt and Abby enjoy a calm low-tide paddle.  There's was always lots to see, even on a cool March day.

This was a beautiful late-afternoon looking to the southeast across the bay.  The weather and the water and the wildlife are constantly changing.

It's not always calm.  Tooley and Oscar rest up after doing battle with an October storm.  Tooley has just finished swimming and surfing in these waves.  Oscar, the Lab, won't go in the water.  Go figure...

Very park-like. Hope they stay UP!

The trees have lost a lot of cones and limbs in the winter windstorms.  It was really cool to hear the wind howling, and I reassured myself more than once that those old trees had been through this and more before.

The "black dogs" as we sometimes call the fearsome twosome of Tooley and Oscar, scour the beach for anything that moves, shines, runs, or flies.  They usually found SOMETHING to chase.  The seagulls seemed to enjoy the game as well.
